Nice set, good price.

On the fence though - I have the GearWrench ratchet screwdriver set, and I bought the 5/16 nut driver individually for it... I don't think I've ever used a different sized nutdriver? :)

Are the nut shafts hollow?

As far as my research shows me, yes.

No item description on the set seems to say either way (seems like a good selling point to me) but if you check out the set on the gw site and see what item numbers it includes, then look them up they do say "hollow for max clearance of bolt"

man, this is really tempting. i don't need the nut drivers, but have always wanted the ratcheting stubby handle.

where do you guys find nut drivers useful when a regular socket or wrench won't do?

You can just use a magnetic nut driver and the sockets you already have. You will need a socket extension bit for it (available in most drill/driver kits that have bits, drivers, etc.)

I used one yesterday to screw down the stairs on my MIL's pool. I tried using a ratchet and socket first, but the weight of it wasn't working out right. The screws weren't putting up enough resistance in order for the ratcheting of the socket to work. And wrenches wouldn't work (screws were recessed into a plastic mount).

But I had a 5/16" socket on the end of my Craftsman magnetic driver, and it worked great.
