Saw this at Sears and thought I would pass along. I did some googling and it seems to be lower price. Sears hot deal/amazon match so save15 code a no go, but i did get the $10 in points on $50 purchase coupon to work. It is two separate 10 piece sets. As always YMMV.
NON-RATCHETING, plain old you gotta do all the work wrenches.

Are you sure the ones I linked are not? They look like polished raised panels. They do offer other "flat" stubby that are made in china

A few people on the board have got this set USA made through internet orders, some have also received the chinese ones that are in the store. At this point the best answer you can get is **** shoot.

Gearwrench set on amazon for $70 and change. Free ship, no tax.

Craftsman 90 plus tax for me.

About a 27.00 difference.

Gearwrench has an 11mm and stops at 19mm

Cratsman is missing the 11mm but has a 20mm

11mm is more useful than a 20mm?

From what I understood after talking with a customer service rep at Sears a while ago is that if any of the Craftsman line is made in the USA it will state so on the info page on their site. They may have leftover USA inventory still clearing out but as someone stated earlier, it's a crapshoot whether you get USA made wrenches or not. The comments that people have left state that the ones they received are made in the USA however.

I found the best bet is to try and find new USA Craftsman from other sellers such as ebay. You know for sure what you are going to get.

Here's an example of where it's stated they are made in the USA. http://www.sears.com/craftsman-prof...p-00948996000P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2

This set is brought up on a weekly basis and nobody has ever received anything but made in USA. Prove us otherwise.

Besides, if they show up and you aren't happy with them, just take them back to a Sears for a refund.

Hmm.... for some reason you think I'm arguing with you. I'm not and there is no reason to prove anything. I'm just stating what I was told by a Sears rep and backed up that info with a link that shows tools still being made in the USA are stated so on their webpage. It's just helpful info for people who want to determine for sure what's still being made in the USA and what isn't.

You are right about returning them however if what you receive is not USA made.

I just returned a set of Craftsman stubbies that were USA made to the Store in Frisco Texas.. they will probably mark them down an sell them if anyone is interested. I believe I paid ~80 for them a while back.
I had no use for them, and I am slowly weening myself off all things Craftsman...
These wrenches were nice, but I had no use for them.

Other USA stuff I returned from (250 piece kit) was just ****, despite the USA embossed on everything.

I am sure the gearwrench is fine. But for the $80 listed here I would rather get made in USA tools for a little bit more

I generally don't like Craftsman wrenches, but these are far nicer than their typical sets. I'm not saying the GearWrenchs aren't good enough, but their not known to be exceptional.

Gw set for 65 shipped on ebay.

I bought the GW. I have never needed a 20mm yet, knock on wood. Now that will change as soon as i use these :)

Wished we had menards, nearest one is 170 miles away, i think.

i would still pay more for the craftsmans. they are probably the nicest thing craftsman has ever put their name on. seriously.
they do go on a hot buy from time to time for 74 or 79 if you are a penny pincher. i have an sae set of open stock i got on clearance from my local store. wish i had some metrics.
