Looking at getting a "complete" (for me) set of torx and hex bits. Most of my tools right now are Gearwrench with a few Matco and Snap ON tid bits smattered in.

I am tired of cheap **** hex and torx bits breaking. I do however have a gearwrench truck that runs around my area so anything that happens i can reach out to them.

How are the hex/torx sockets from Gearwrench? Decent? Quality? for $91ish?

Or should i look at something else? I see Williams has a Taiwan set for $52, missing a few pieces, but mainly things I wouldnt use.

Thanks all!

For that kind of money look at Bondhus. Made in USA. I have their long reach ball end 3/8 socket set. Lifetime warranty but I'm sure not as convenient as truck service.

I have a full socket set of Williams Taiwan. Great quality. I would put them about the same as GW maybe a bit higher, but I think GW has better ratchets and of course the mid-depth sockets. But quality one for one you should be happy with either of those two based on my experience. That said, are the pieces missing from the Williams set worth the price difference to the GW set? Maybe also look at BluePoint, as any Williams Taiwan is likely also sold as a BP exact same set.

But I would go for Bondhus if it was my money on the hex at least.

The williams set is $52ish and the Gearwrench is $91. I have a Gearwrench truck that is around me, but anything warranty related with Williams would probably have to be sent in.

Gearwrench comes with Inverted torx e4-e18, torx t10-t55, Allen keys 3/16-3/8, 2mm-10mm
Williams comes with the same except the inverted torx.

For affordable quality bit sockets purchase VIM. GW bit sockets aren't anything special, made to a low price point and are also made in China.

I use GW Security Torx and E-Torx at work, and they've held up great. Yet to bust one. I bought the "Master" GW set a few years back on sale, but resold it because I didn't have as much use for them at the time (already had a full set of USA hex/allens). They were well made, and the set I had was Taiwan.

I looked in my drawer later on yesterdy. I have some HF hex, 'security' Torx, & E-Torx sockets that have held up to light use pretty well. If anything is going to get heavy usage I have HF impact hex & torx bits that work well also but again haven't been abused.

I also have in another box Kobalt Taiwan hex bits that I like and would put at or near GW in terms of quality.
