i bought the long screwdriver set for 14.99 and xbeam xl metric wrench set from 8-19. everything looked good, surprisingly shipping was only 3.99 for both items. they had to ship separately due to both items were in different warehouse.

it was definitely a killer deal.

I have ordered multiple items from the hot deals, all came no problem. One thing is for sure they can put more than one item in a box! Every time I order more than one item, and every time items come shipped individually. MAJOR waste of recourses if you ask me.

BTW there body hammer, long screw drivers, and reamer are great quality.

Guys, this is pretty simple stuff. They offer something up on a smoking deal price and when it's gone, it's gone. I've bought a bunch of stuff over the last year or so from them and have never been sorry. But just cause it ain't for sale now doesn't mean it won't be in the future. I'm sick of seeing guys complain because something they want isn't for sale RIGHT NOW, that's ridiculous.

My only gripe is the shipping BS. Every order I get comes in individual boxes and not only that, HUGE boxes most of the time. The last order I got in had three tin snips in a 18" X 12" X 12" box. What a complete waste of shipping cost and resources.

Yes and no....I was asking if it isn't listed any more because some people stated in the same post, they ordered XBeams n various current listed items...some items have not been listed in the hot deals section..but a hot deal (exp.. tap n die set..the body set has been on n off the hot deal section recently)

...the post in response to mine didn't seem like complaining, just wanting to know if anyone else has seen it available.....maybe on a different browser or OP system..

As far as the insulated screwdrivers are concerned.......the picture shows 4 Phillips and 3 slotted, yet the contents list shows 3 Phillips and 4 slotted :dunno:

No one is complaining. If anything, we're wishing we hadn't missed the deal (and trying to see if we did, in fact, miss it on something in particular we would have liked to of purchased).. not their fault though. We all know that.

Chill out

So how much is shipping usually? Do they charge you for each package since they ship each item separate?

So its been brought up by several of us at various times how ridiculous their shipping methods are. And many guys have asked what we meant. Soooo I figured I give the uninitiated soles a taste.

Here's the latest shipment that just came in today, bout $130 worth of smoking deals. ;)

IMAG6397_zps0f371f79.jpg

K, now ya ready for this??!!!. If I remember correctly I think I got charged like maybe $15 in shipping, ya that's right fifteen bucks for all four of those packages. That right there is a deal in it's self.

But look what all four of those contained. NOW, I've never given this a look see until today but always gave them the benefit of doubt that the tools shipped from various locations. SOOOOOO today I decided to see for myself.

Whatta ya know, they all came from the same address, I **** you not. :lol_hitti:lol_hitti:dunno:

IMAG6398_zpsb40c3c76.jpg

Gear Wrench if you're paying attention. First off the hot deal section is much appreciated and this is probably my 6-7th of ordering from you. So for that THANKS!

But damn guys, I've run a couple different business over the last 30 years and I don't care who ya are, this eats into your bottom line if you're pushing the multitudes I think you are. Someone MIGHT wanna have a talk with the shipping department.

Have a nice day.

Yes i can't believe how much money they waste doing that two of my items came in single boxes and the last one came with three items so at least they saved money there.

That 4 piece screwdriver set is quite tempting.

I doubt a major outfit like that pays the same as "us" for shipping.

Returns are probably also lower when everything is not stuffed in one box.

Oh heck no they don't, no even remotely close. When I had my performance shop and an account with the commercial side of summit the shipping was stupid cheap. Matter of fact if I needed it overnight, I only got charged an extra $10 per 25lbs. Most if the stock came out of sparks Nevada which is close to me, but many times some items came out of Ohio. I could get a set of long tubes overnight for like 20-25 total even out of Ohio.

What gets me, now mind ya I'm not much of a tree hugger is the absolute waste factor. Hell even I take my foot off the floor most of the time. These guys are WOT 100% of the time.

Those screw drivers might be a deal, lets see how well they hold up. I will say they sure as heck are looooooooong. And even if they only come in handy once or twice they would have paid for themselves. I bought some of this stuff for my son who is will be graduating this year from HS and is seriously considering becoming a wrench. So I've been buying him stuff all year here and there. But I couldn't help myself and will be keeping these for me, time to order more..hahaha

I got 3 boxes from them today. One box had a 6" crescent wrench in it. Another had a 12" and a reamer, the last box had the 6pc metric open end set.

What I don't get is why you were charged for shipping when you ordered $130?? It's free shipping after $40 on their site.

Sheesh, you guys complain when tools are shipped together and arrive with scratches, and then when they're boxed separately! [emoji1] I kid, I kid. Maybe Apex found that the added shipping cost (probably not much on their commercial account) was cheaper than the extra labor for their workers to individually wrap each item and box them all together.

LXCam- whatcha got under the hood of that beast? That's a meaty looking intercooler hanging out in front!

I'm also 99.99% sure they have a very discounted rate.. at work we don't ship a whole heck of a lot FedEx/UPS (mainly freight), but even with the little we do ship we get some pretty large discounts. Maybe their deepest discounts apply to particular size packages?

Regardless.. it's still a waste of space IMO. Amazon does the same thing though, so maybe there is a reason behind it. I got a small little aquarium net in a box that was like 3 feet x 1 foot x 6" the other day from Amazon, lol. AND I got it on Sunday without paying any extra for shipping.

That thought did cross my mind. It blows me away when I see anyone freak the F out when their tool has a minor scratch or something. My gawd, it's a flipping tool :lol_hitti

Oh boy, that's one bad to the bone set up I've been building for the last 18 months. She's one of a kind but not mine. It's a dedicated mile car. We should be turning the key this weekend if the hemi gods smile upon us. 400+cu, 4.7 liter Kennebell hoping for between 1400-1600 at the wheels, we'll see. Anyhow I've already derailed the thread pretty good with the shipping ****. I might make a thread sometime in the near future.

Ordered five items (SAE and Metric open ends, insulated screwdrivers, 6" Armstrong adjustable wrench, 12" Armstrong adjustable wrench) that totaled enough to get into free shipping territory but I did get three huge packages from one warehouse over 2 days and a fourth package from a second warehouse on the second day. Only things that got doubled up were the Armstrong adjustable wrenches. Apex could definitely increase their profit just by optimizing packaging and shipping.

LXCam will confirm, but I think those are the Armstrong adjustables that they were selling. Were, because they are sold out now. USA made.

Confirmed. Also the head has metric gradients on one side and fractional on the other. The thumb screw axle is pinged in and not a threaded unit. It's not something I would consider a quality tool, but I guess we'll see. The only reason I bought them was my thumb wheel fell out of the one I keep at my lathe and I couldn't find it. The other is for the boy child's box.

Heck, I ordered six S-K sockets from AAP. Three of them came in individual boxes. Three of them came in individual padded envelopes.

That's crazy, lol.

I once ordered about 14 pieces of open stock gearwrench and sunex to fill in some sets I had around. All of them shipped from the same warehouse. All of them came in individual boxes or padded envelopes. The mail guy just laughed as he was tying to hold 14 different envelops and packages and bring them to my door.

K, I just placed an order for 6 more items. Two notch puller sets (indentical), two of the cheap Torx sets for $6 and then a set of metric and SAE open end wrenches in the deal section.

So who wants to wager a guess. Will these be coming in 6 boxes or 4????. I'm going for 6.
