Hey guys I just found this so I ordered me one.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gearwrench-...13?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:3160#ht_2367wt_965

Looks to be a pretty good deal, this uses the same 60T mechanism as my Craftsman thin profile that I love just with no quick release.

Also can someone confirm, these gear wrench 60t ratchets are what people were swapping the 84/88 tooth gears into right?

Kind of redundant being I already have a Snappy of the same flavor but we will call it a backup.

Looks nice, buying at Cripe Dist is a slippery slope, cost me $100 or so a couple times trying to make use of the combined shipping (make sure to ask for an invoice for combined shipping).

I was looking at that, they say they can not combine shipping until after the purchase is made.

In other words they are going to refund me the difference in shipping. I currently have about a $30 shipping charge and the items I ordered should cost about $15 to ship at my cost even less for them. So I guess I will use this to judge if I want to continue doing business with them.

Yes, that is the ratchet that the 84/88 tooth kits fit in. The 84 tooth kit from gearwrench is 81099F.

I hope it's not too late, but Dangler means to ask them for an invoice after you commit to buy but BEFORE you actually pay for it. Otherwise they will gladly enjoy the extra shipping charge from my experience. :)

Hmmm I was slightly confused by these following statements, to my sleep deprived brain they seemed a little contradictory.

*** Just ask for a combined invoice BEFORE you pay for anything and AFTER you are all done purchasing the items you want to buy! ***

HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR COMBINED SHIPPING COST

If you send a list of items we cannot provide a shipping quote before they are purchased. If you would like to figure out how much your combined shipping would be before you make any purchases please click on the “See all details” link next to the shipping price in the eBay listing and it will show you how much shipping we charge for each additional of the same item.

First thing says to request the invoice while the last thing says its all in their hands. (last part goes on further)

Yeah, it means the same thing I said. Buy the total of items but before you pay for it, send a request for a recalculated invoice. Jump back to previous screens.

In all honesty, they should go ahead and refund over-shipping charges through PayPal. Maybe if you don't use PayPal, it would be more difficult. But from my experience they won't say anything if you don't. That seems a little dishonest to me. As an online seller, I would never overcharge someone and my online system through USPS sometimes overcharges people but it is the Postal Service, but i ALWAYS send a refund whether asked for or not.

PS: I had a similar problem with a guy selling Snap-On stuff last week and posted it here on the Hot Deals thread. The guy wouldn't refund the extra shipping charge after several emails back and forth. After posting the info here, he suddenly found the "time" to refund the money. :D

In that specific case, I was using the eBay shopping cart and that might be the problem. It wouldn't allow me to wait and pay later.

Bought one a few weeks back through Cripe. It's the only 1/4" drive ratchet I use now. Excellent deal. Also bought a 3/8" Gearwrench stubby ratchet for $11 at the same time.

Just got one, how quick does cripe ship I only ordered the ratchet. My tool budget is pretty thin right now. But I have been on the lookout for a 1/4" flex head :)

Thanks OP!

They usually ship out the next day. I usually get my orders within a day or two (but I'm in the same state, haha)

I was all excited, thought it would be 5-6 for shipping. Shipping makes it the average price on the internet

According to Google shopping (at least as far as I can tell) it is about half as much as the next cheapest option. Google tells me most are low thirties I paid $17 for this.

Either way even if the MSRP was $5 it would still be money well spent at $20 to me.

Idk 60 to 80 teeth doesn't seem worth the price of the ratchet itself. maybe if it was 60 to 120 teeth

Exactly! 60 tooth works just fine for me, so no need to spend as much as the entire thing costs for just a few more teeth. Mine was a little dry, but I got that fixed right away. I already put it to work on my timing belt / oil pump job.

Love this thing so far
