Does anyone have a preference on the gearwrench flex vs offsetwrenches?

I've heard the flex head are slightly thicker than the reversible.

Comments?

the flex are cool for what they are, but honesty kind of a pain in the *** unless they have detents in them. They all loosen up, so the head moves a little too easily. I've still got both sets of mine, but recently picked up a set of non flex for normal use

We have had to warranty several of our flex head wrenches due to them losing their ability to stay in a fixed position. I prefer non-flex and rarely need a flex head.

I'm a frugal diyer that survived 50 years + with regular combo wrenches and have no lust for ratcheting wrenches. When I bought in to all the hype here, I decided to buy one set only of ratcheting wrenches. Barring their ratchet action, I felt the offset gearwrences would duplicate my regular combo wrenches. I chose the flex ones with the idea that they "might" fill a niche (flex abiliity) in some tight situation that no other wrench would work.

That situation came up a few months ago on a difficult to access belt tensioner. Otherwise, they come out of the tool box just a few times a year so they don't get depressed seeing the other wrenches getting used more.

My regular combo wrenches and ratcheting sockets get most work done, but again, I'm purely an occasional shade tree diyer.

Never saw the need for ratcheting but find I am using the reversing Gearwrench ones I bought cheap. I have used flex heads and do not like them.

Since you have the regular craftsman ratcheting wrenches. I would add a set of flex locking. I have regular flex, the work but locking flex are way better.
