I searched, but didn't find what I'm looking for so thought I'd go ahead and ask. Surely someone has a set and can answer this easily.

I know they are reversible, so does that mean you can't flip them over so that you can go up and over something as well as down and under it?

The regular reversible ones I have can't be flipped over, they have a lip (to hold nuts in) that prevents them from going over the bolt head.

Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks in advance!

I'm glad you ask that...I only have one reversible one and it came from Sears. It was bought to replace a non-reversible, straight wrench that went awol. I didn't realize I bought the wrong style until I already had it in my box. Perhaps I should double check and make sure it's a Gearwrench. IIRC the set I have came from Sears as well though...

Just checked my half-moon and S sets and they can both work flipped to either side. As a matter of fact, there is a reversing lever on each side also of each wrench.

Edit: by each side I mean top and bottom (4 total per wrench)

Thought so.

I had my suspicion when you mentioned the capstop. :)

Reversible GearWrench stuff sold at Sears seems to have the capstop "feature" whereas the same product sold elsewhere does not.

I like the feature at times, but can see why some do not.

Nice. Thanks guys, good info! Was hoping they didn't make them half as useful as they could've! I think both styles will come in handy to access door hinge bolts without removing the fender first.

X3 on flipping them and a reverse lever on both sides.
I haven't found a good use for mine yet but they're damn cool wrenches lol
