I knew I shouldn't have clicked that link...I just knew it. But NOO....I had to do it. I always asked myself "Self, what is Woot?" and myself would tell me "Woot wants your money...stay far, far away". Little did I know that myself was right and I made a purchase. My impact sockets will be here shortly.

Thanks OP...I guess. :D

I bought the 5-Piece X Beam Set this morning. How could I not for $16.00? (well, $21). I think I like the X beam idea.

I like it in theory but I don't like how you can no longer loop the box end of a wrench over the open end and get more leverage.

You also are not supposed to but that much torque on a ratcheting wrench so I never push hard enough to hurt my hand anyway. I was tempted though.

Now I'm going to have to hunt a deal on the Metric add-on set

In the discussion, almost everybody frowned upon the SAE and suggested metric deals. A gearwrench worker commented that he was surprised to see the interest in metric over SAE and will work on getting metric deals

"Wow, I didn't expect such a call out for metric on these. I work for the manufacturer and set these deals up.

Don't worry guys! I will try to set up a few more events that feature Metric sets.

Jake"

That would be stellar.

The 4 pc ratcheting wrenches will be nice to round out the craftsman set i have (I believe they are the exact same minus the marking)

I am glad they have standard stuff for sale, but would like to see some metric as well (just too bad they can't have them all at once to share the $5 shipping.

I am more interested in a GearWrench 7-Piece metric XL-X Beam Wrench Set since the set includes sizes: 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 17 and 19mm.

Post what you would like to see in the discussion on the Woot page. There is a Gear Wrench rep there participating.

I cannot believe all the people who do not understand the purpose of 1/4" impact sockets.

I'm surprised anyone needs SAE. Everyone I know drives metric cars and bikes...for the past several decades.

Missed the torx set and hating myself.

Anyone want to trade a GW 24-piece combo set (81900) for one?

I got the 4 piece set in today, Made in China but I am still happy.

Although this set will not be of any use to me on my car, due to the fact that all the hardware I use on my projects is all SAE I know they will pay off vs the cresent wrench I have been using.

Now I want the metric set even more though!
