After noticing the Lowe's I frequent had moved all of their clearance USA Kobalt tools to boxes on a banquet table, and no GW to be found, I remembered another store that was fairly close by. Went there, and all of their remaining stock was still pegged to a shelf, and I went ahead and picked up both the Metric & SAE sets for half price (about $15/ea. +tax.)

Haven't used them on anything yet, but I gotta say, these things seem pretty sweet. Each pair comes with a spring-loaded plug that fits into the smaller wrench, turning it into a bit driver, and they've come with driver bits, too. Lifetime guarantee, too - but if one breaks, I don't expect to take it back to Lowe's and get a new one.

Any of y'all use these?

*BTW: There were two SAE sets left as of this afternoon, if anyone's interested in 'em (3/4 & 11/16 x 5/8 & 9/16 + 3/8 & 5/16 x 1/2 & 7/16".) Unlike the Knipex pliers, though, every Lowe's I'd been to previously seemed to have these, I just never paid any attention to 'em until today.

I bought one too. I have used and like it. I used the bit driver attachment and it worked awesome for what I was doing. I think it is kind of gimmick, but it worked for me. Plus it is nice to just carry 2 wrench that cover 8 sizes in my tool kit.

Good to know. I'd hate to think, at some future date, that I should've picked up these sets when I had the chance when they could be had for half price 'back then.'

I'd have called 'gimmick' earlier if they'd counted the bit holder as one of the pieces... :D

I bought a pair of the SAE ones several years ago at Sears, and they are my favorite wrenches to use when I am not sure what size I'll need, and don't want to take a whole set of regular wrenches with. I don't remember if mine came with the bit set or not, but they are still handy. A few months later I went back to get a metric set, but they were out. So I bought the C-man version in the metric, but there is no comparison with the GW set.

Bought them too and used them many times already. Not sure whether I should buy the #85213 9/11/14/15 mm to complete the metric range though. Thoughts?

Amongst all the "all in one" type wrench tools, these are by FAR the least gimmicky, if they're gimmicky at all.

They're very, very well made, have great action, are reversing, and are just plain superb for tool bags.

Box wrenches are some of my favorite to use, so these are right up my alley.

I have both the metric and SAE quadbox sets in my hand box. Their size is great for carrying in a road box and yet having the speed of a gearwrench. They almost make me wish I didn't drop the extra money on the typical reversible combination gearwrench sets that take up so much space in the chest in comparison. The only end I actually use is the ratchet anyways...

I haven't seen any other sizes of these wrenches, but I did notice the gaps. Might not be a bad idea, given the opinions of everyone so far.

I think I'll make a trip this evening to pick up another SAE set, if they're still there, for my dad - birthday's coming up.

kms,

If you own any Japanese vehicles, you will need the 14mm. A couple years ago, I purchased from Lowes the Gearwrench 2 piece metric set on sale for $19.99. I ordered the Gearwrench# 85213 from a local Ace Hardware store last year. It took a month for it to arrive at the store. The list price was around $33. However, I had a $10 off $25 Ace Hardware coupon from a U.S. Postal Service coupon moving pack I received from selling my home. With the coupon, I purchased the wrench for $23 plus tax.

Amazon currently has in stock the Gearwrench# 85213 Quadbox for $20.34 here: http://www.amazon.com/GearWrench-85213-QuadBox-Ratcheting-Wrench/dp/B001M0O1S4.
