Gearwrench Reversible Ratcheting Wrench Set

Recently purchased one of these sets on eBay. 8mm - 25mm.

Upon inspection I've noticed that I can't use the opposite face of the ratcheting end to use on a fastener. Reversible lever works just fine, but if I were to take out the ratchet from the fastener and flip it the splines on the ratcheting end is designed so that it will fit on a fastener in only one direction.

Is this normal with this set??? I've used multiple gearwrenches and have never come across this problem. This is problematic since the wrenches are angled, if used in a small area I don't have the freedom of rotating the wrenches the other way to make space.

Are you talking about the cap stop feature? Its designed to sit on the face of the nut or bolt so you can work faster without the wrench sliding off the fastener. They work well on long bolts or threaded rod. Either way, reversible wrenches are only designed to work one way.

Oh so this inconvenience is actually a feature... thanks for the information.

Like many other features in some places it's really handy. In other places it's a pain in the ****. If you need a set without the cap stop I think my Crescent set has the switch on the side and no cap stop. I still use the Gearwrench a lot more.
