Does gearwrench make them for Husky? I just got the Husky version for $6.50

I got that combo at sears several years back for 29.99
until the 3/8's ratchet gave up the ghost and started spinning freely...
figured no big deal right?...walked into Sears to swap it out with a good one...nope, they wouldn't do it as it wasn't a "craftsman"....even though they were able to pull up my purchase in the system (bought on-line for in-store pickup and I used my Craftsman Club member #)...
so I called Gearwrench, who apologized for Sears refusing to honor the warranty which they should have, and shipped me a new one....as soon as the new one got here...I pulled the head out of the bad one and thru it in the trash.....figured I may use the handle someday for something.

i hear yes and no. they are all a very similar if not the exact taiwan mechanism.
i bought the husky on clearance a while back. 3/8 for 10 bucks. the 1/4 inch was 24 dollars on clearance for 20.... so i passed on it. it had been on clearance for longer than the 3/8 too. strange. ive only used it once. my first roto head. ive always used flex heads, so i havent found a job that it will make my life easier doing. i just like ratchets

I think the same manufacturer rebrands them for multiple brands. Would be my guess. Might've been gearwrench exclusive at one point but I think the gearwrench stuff was always "sourced" not "manufactured" when it was coming out of taiwan. Could be wrong. Apex definitely has chinese factories though.
"same kind" is not the same. They are actually pretty different.
Mechanism looks to be the same. I don't like the ugly handles. Gearwrench has a nice handle. The kobalts are nice too if you like polished handle

looks nothing the same..[edit: well, walking down the isle from 5' they are similar]..its larger in diameter and has a quick release (which some see as a benefit)
I have the HF one's too.....I hated the handles so much that I downgraded them from my junk yard box, to the barn box where they'll be tortured until death then thrown away or lost in a field/pasture working on implement
