Was looking at slicksdeals.net and the gearwrench stubby sets are $18.

Just curious are these worth picking up? I can't think of when I have needed a stubby wrench.

I picked up a set of the metrics and found them quite useful just this past weekend when pulling a VW engine.

How can you go wrong, except I already have them. Everybody should have a set.

haha well my toolbox doesn't like it. It's full and I am still adding more stuff. I have the gearwrench reversible 8pc sae & metric, gearwrench extreme metric, 12pc craftsman raised set sae & metric. But might by them :(

Good price!! Already have metric bought for $30 before, debating if I need the SAE or not, if I go to the Sears pick up center one more time, the wife will kill me. I've been giving Sears big bucks and many $20 lately.

Usually I just run into SAE on lag bolt or store bought bolts.. usually in those situations not in a tight spot.

On the other hand the ratcheting screw driver set for $18... I bought another one to put inside the house, very impressed with them.

You need to do one MORE step; you have to be "logged in" just putting in the cart without login won't show the discount.

I've been noticing lately that their website *****, and the prices change in the middle of the day.

Oh well, I was going to buy a couple sets too, too bad they're not getting my money now.

I can also confirm that they removed the 40% off discount. It's no longer available on any of the above mentioned offers.

Luckily I got in before they fixed it.

you guys who got in, do you remember last months GEARWRENCH/SEARS fiasco they took your money, then cancelled your order, then refunded your money 28 days later. Hopefully they honor this order.

It is a good thing that I took advantage of GearWrench 56 piece driver set and the six piece metric extreme grip ratcheting wrenches yesterday.

I don't know about the rest of the guys but I myself did in store pick up and picked my two items up yesterday.

I picked up a drive set yestereday, but bulked on the stubbies today, now I want a set. I emailed Sears customer support, since I did save images of their ad showing it as good through the 10th. In fact the SAE still show it as good, but don't work when you add them to the cart.

I was going to start buying Cman stuff, but the way they've been behaving lately has me leaning toward SO.

If you can choose either one you might as well start off with snap on then since you will probably end up buying snap on in the long run if you decide to go with craftsman.

Got the entire 32 pc set of stubby and reversibles in Metric and SAE. Gotta fill up that 2nd box I just bought. Hell of a deal for $95+tax when retail is $280.

I sent in my order for instore pickup @ noon central time and got a ready for pickup confirmation about 30 mins later. Hopefully they're still there when I go to pick them up this afternoon :)

Which wrenches do the 8pc reverse sets not include? Is there a 4pc supplementary set that you need to get to have the full set? Larger sizes or something?

The 4pc set just add larger sizes sae - 13/16", 7/8", 15/16", and 1" metric -21mm, 22mm, 24mm, 25mm. More of a nice to have not need to have.

I tried to take advantage of the 40% off but Sears.com f*cked me. Canceled the order and ******* my money til Monday. BUT I did manage to get them to match the Metric Flex head and stubbys in the store so I got away with those for $77 and change. So while it wasn't a total loss I still wish I had the SAE's.
