I was hoping someone could explain the part numbering/lettering on Gearwrench Tools. So I am looking at some 1/2" drive metric sockets. The number on these sockets at Gearwrench is 80710. If I bought them on Amazon it is 80710D, If I bought them at Advance Auto it is 80710DD. What is the difference between these, why the change in part #?
They all are generally right at $35.99 and I bought the DD set from Advance Auto. I have noticed this on all Gearwrench Tools and I am sure I am not the only one that would like an explanation.
