So I stumbled on an add on eBay for USA made gearwrench universal sockets. Thought at first it was a typo but the package clearly shows “made in USA”. After researching the part number I can’t seem to find much on it other than from back in 2014. A few of the sizes show up on gearwrenchs website and even states made in USA but when selecting to purchase it redirects you to their Chinese made xcore products. The pictures are very poor and it seems only a few listings if you do a search on eBay or even amazon. Is this just new old stock? 14 would put it inline with Armstrong as I know Armstrong also made craftsman’s us made pinless sockets

Same sockets as Apex made Matco/Armstrong/Craftsman of that era. New old stock and Cripe is a great place to buy from.

What he said, new old stock from days before Armstrong's demise.

They aren't exactly the same as MATCO as there aren't any high vis markings, and some of the craftsman versions had slightly taller bases.

Although I love my Matco pinless impact swivel sockets, and have the metric version of that US made Gearwrench set, $120 for that seven piece SAE set seems pricey to me.

There's no comparing the current X Core Gearwrench **** to the US made pinless sockets and universal joints. The chinese X Core is taller and the X seems to peen and wear quickly with prolonged use. Your results may vary

I have the Armstrong metric and they're great. IIRC, I paid $200-300 online for them 5+ yrs ago. Astro has a new pinless line.
