I have ordered direct from Gedore USA before and learned quite quickly that not everything they sell is German made. They do not list COO on the website for many of their items. You have to be careful when ordering their pliers as they have a value brand line they sell that is made in Taiwan.

Good info. Thanks for sharing as I would have automatically assumed it was German.

Also, be careful not to order anything that is "Red", that's all overseas.

Look for the "Blue" tools.

There is some Asian company Gedore bought. Think Blue Point for Snap On kind of thing.

The deals are good, but shipping is high. Only way to get a good deal is to buy a dozen or so clearance items in one shopping cart. I bought a bunch of the individual screwdrivers and hammers a while back from clearance. The clearance stuff is pretty slim picking now. But several months ago they had tons of good stuff in clearance, screwdrivers, hammers, spanners, ratchets, sockets, punches, etc.

I bought a couple dead blows and a couple ball peens the last time this was in hot deals. I've used them a few times and they're nice pieces. I think I bought like 4 things to make the shipping palatable.

I was going to order a set of the ball pein hamers, and would have been fine with $12 shipping but to ship 6 hammers they wanted $35???!!!!

I'm not impressed with companies that offer ;deals; and then screw you with shipping. They just got added to my "DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS" list.

have you priced shipping lately? Its not cheap even with an account. hell a large flate rate usps box is 18 now with 50 coverage and much smaller then it used to be, those hammers wouldn't fit in it but anything up to 70lbs that does will ship for that price.

I paid almost 30 just to ship a set of 18" control arms UPS ground the other day and that was less then 8lbs. Shipping is nuts these days.

Those must either be used tools or really old new old stock.

Gedore had a joint venture with a company in India in the 1980's. They made some sub-par quality tools there for a few years. Then the deal broke up.

Those wrenches are probably tools from the 80's.

my friend shipped a couple different flywheels through media mail. one went OK, but with the second one the lady behind the counter said 'isn't this a little heavy for a book?' he said it had a lot of pictures in it and she took it lol

So are you suggesting for cheaper shipping is to rip off the USPS for incorrect mail class declaration like your friend did?

USPS media mail is the worst. When I bought books I paid more to have them shipped priority mail instead of media mail. An unnecessary amount of books get lost in Des Moines.

Not at all but you have to admit that's a pretty dense counter worker to take a 28 pound "book." They were SFI steel wheels for BBC's.

I laughed at my friend and called him cheap!

I ordered $246 worth of tools, and was charged $16.04 shipping.

Hammers made in USA, ratchets and sockets, wrenches, everything else Germany. Sorry a little late..
