Gedore tools

Hi gents

I am a new member on this site and i just wanted to know..

Do any of yoall own Gedore tools? I am from South Africa
And i dont know if anyone else on this site is also from here..

Gedore make fine tools, but be careful of the ones that are not made in Europe. I believe that they have a range which is made in India, I've seen a few Indian tools and they are not good....

The tools i have are all marked GERMANY..

Do the indian production all say the same or does it state INDIA?

I lost a set of STAHWILLE Tools in a messy divorce so now i am
rebuilding my whole tool set from scratch..

In America I've seen them marked India. No idea about other countries. But I would imagine most would appear the same.

Quite serviceable for DIY ... but the fit/finish is nowhere near the grade of German or Sth Africa, Gedore items.

This is why some of us think Gedore is garbage here in the states. Used to see their crappy indian products EVERYWHERE in the 1980s. I wouldn't mind the german stuff, but that horrible metallurgy of the Indian stuff is truly made of nitemares.

As far as i know, we dont have all the makes that you have in the US..
Like i know we have Dewalt, Gedore, Stahlwille and Snapon..
But things like Plumb, Elora and Hayco are all new to me..
Gedore is seen as one of the best here in RSA..

Hey Ridwaan. Good to see another saffa.

Most of my hand tools are Gedore - the SA made ones. Has served me very well for the last 24 years.

I have a set of German gedore spanners that go 1/4" through to 1-5/8", plus a few bigger ones. Great to use

really like Gedore , also have two of the 1580 roll cabs

the Gedore factory in India closed in 1986.
They now produce in Brasil, South Africa, Turkey, England, Austria and Germany.
