Generac GC2300W leaking severely

I have turned wrenches for approx. 55 yrs now and have dissected pretty much everything you can imagine but not one of these. I’m lost and have no clue what and when things are supposed to take place on this This unit has approx. 6 hrs on it. From out of no where it started blowing water from between the neoprene fitting and pump housing (pic 1).After opening this project up you can see what some call it a pressure switch joint. (Pic #2) Generac is no help. I have taken pictures of the model number and they claim the model # doesn’t come up. It’s less than 2 years old.Anyway can anyone tell me a few things here? What would cause the water to blow out the oring? And secondly do you line up the holes that are in the neoprene fitting with the hole that are in the pump housing? (Pic 3) Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I am surprised that no one else has replied as of yet. There are some folks here who know a lot about pressure washers. I'll try to help you and maybe someone else can tell us what we're doing wrong.

The thing that you are calling a "neoprene fitting", I would call a "nylon fitting". I would agree that the o-ring is made of neoprene. Are you saying that you believe the function to be a "pressure switch", or part of a pressure switch?

Where exactly is the water leaking? Is it coming out of the hole in the pump hosing? Is it leaking past the o-ring?

What is the "white thing" (circled in red) that is attached to the "pressure switch"?


Based on the location of the "hole in the pump housing" relative to the location of the o-ring, my guess is that no water should be in that end of the pump housing. If that is true, the real problem will be further inside the pump housing.
