Generac Pressure Washer Leaking Pump Oil

I was given a "Broken" Generac 01676-02 pressure washer

Briggs 6.5 HP OHV
Intek 206 CC
2700 PSI

Came with the wand, hose, and a 6 piece nozzle spray kit

I took the carb off and cleaned it...…...fresh gas and it fired right up

The PO said it leaked oil...….and once a water hose is hooked up, he was right

It appears as if the pump oil is leaking where the pump head bolts to the housing...……….I assume either a gasket or O-rings are shot?

The pressure washer seems brand new, after a quick wipe down with some simple green wipes.

Replace the pump with a CAT pump....... Not worth rebuilding the leaking pump.

Not every repair needs to be a rebuild. Tear it apart, if it can't be fixxed simple toss it. Very rare I truly rebuild anymore, been way north of 30 years since I bought a carb kit, same for other kits for remans, usually am after 1 or 2 parts.
Did an alternator the other day, put in a set of brushes, did one a while back, used brushes.
We had a pressure wash pump problem a while back, my helper managed to fix a loose valve seat I think. I did a repair on my main a few weeks ago, took me a bit to figure out exactly how it worked and added a needle valve in place of a fixxed orifice and it actually worked better, could dial in the unloader.
I got a little oil leak in my portable shows up if I turn it up too hi, so far keeping an eye on it.

Could also be a "water leak" which is displacing oil from the crankcase....

There is nothing wrong with trying to take it apart to see what is wrong, so long as you have the free time, but on this class of machine you are better off just buying a new pump for it and moving on.

When you get up to the high-dollar belt-driven pumps, that's an entirely different story.

In the past I have found that big box pumps are not the same size as the pumps sold through PW stores. That means the parts are not available as the warehouse does not carry oddball sizes. 2700 psi may be an off size.
Find the brand pump and see if that size is even on their warehouse list.

It just needs three thick rubber washers...…….just need to find the parts

No need to replace or rebuild the pump

Should be a cheap fix to stop the leak
