I own a Generac Pressure Washer model 8894 electric start. When I put the battery in it, it tries to start. Is this a problem with the battery box? You can unplug the wires for the button to start the washer, and it will still try to start which tells me it's not the switch. Also tested the starter solenoid, and that's not the problem either. Does anyone have any ideas?

EXACTLY how did you determine that the problem was not the solenoid? That is literally the switch between the battery and the starter? The solenoid has to be open circuit, no continuity.

sure sounds like a solenoid stuck, but with your vagueness in the post, it's hard to know
Sorry, I put a new one on and the same problem still exists. Personally, I think it's the battery box itself sending the signal out as soon as I stick the battery in.

Pictures of the battery box may help, if it's just a metal box I don't see that being the issue.
Is the solenoid 2 small terminals and 2 large terminals?
What happens if you disconnect the wires from the small terminals?

Remove the 'battery to solenoid' wire at the solenoid. Does it then try to start as soon as you 'put the battery in it'? As stated before, pictures will help tremendously because what you are saying doesn't seem reasonable. If you can find an owner's manual in PDF (especially with parts diagram or electrical schematic), please post that here too.

Upon seeing the "battery box", it is my guess that the "battery box" contains the solenoid (or other electrical components that perform the function of a solenoid). If my guess is true, then you have a misunderstanding of what the 'solenoid' is.

I agree that there's more going on in that battery box than just housing the battery .
It does appear to have control wires, indicating a solenoid or relay of some sort.
