General - Drilling Machine Drill Press

Appears to be an overseas unit. I don't know much about it. Seems sturdy, somewhat HD... are these things any good? Comes with the vise.

Been looking for a drill press for a while. Use will be metal for the most part, wood, etc. I know things are not created equal, but I might pick this up if it is decent. I think I can get it for ~100.00.

Some of the older made in Taiwan machines are pretty decent. Check for run out and go from there. I think a $100 is top money for this drill press. $50-$75 sounds better.

Make sure to test/inspect the chuck key. I got a steal on an older foreign made drill press, but the chuck key is worn. Apparently it is some oddball chuck key that I can't find a replacement for. The press is usable but it is frustrating to change bits.

It has rack and pinion table elevation which is a "must have". It also has a wide speed range for a 4 speed DP.

Yea, it's worth it as long as it's in good shape.

Yes, in theory.

No, not always. I just ran into a Chicom DP which had an uncommon JT6 taper instead of the expected JT33.

Maybe it's worth $100 if Delta/W-T/B-C aren't ever offered in your area for same.

It is one of the better off shore drill presses out there. The included vise is nice. However I would much prefer an older usa made machine, even if it needs some work. It would be more of a life time usable machine. That off shore drill presses is not designed to be adjusted for wear. So once it is worn... well you is SOL.

What does your local craigslist look like (aka where in NE ohio are you)? You can PM me if you don't want to post it publicly on the forum. Don't worry, I am in in extreme SW Ohio, no chance of me beating you to a deal.
