Hello!

I'm looking for information on how to dissemble a general electric 1/3 hp motor Model 5KH35KG154A. Need to do a little work to it and I can't seem to figure our how to dissemble the motor. The plate attached reads, remove the bearing cap on the terminal end, then remove shaft cup by release locking tab. Any help or thoughts on dissembling this using the what was given would be great. Thanks!

Joe

I'd remove the screw on the top of each collar, remove both halves of the collar and lift the motor off the base. To disassemble the motor remove the four studs. Then take a screwdriver and find a spot on each end cap to punch them away from of the case. It helps to make alignment marks on all three pieces for reassembly. After that you'll need to remove the centrifical switch assembly if it has one. Use a puller to remove the end plate opposite the centrifical switch side of the motor. Now you can pull out the other end cap with rotor and press the rotor from it's end cap.

Today was a success. Was able to get everything separated and started the process of cleaning the insides. One casualty was the black contact pad (?) chip and fell off in the picture below. Other then that I'll update on monday when I get back to it.
