Hello, I have a Hobart champion elite welder generator. Does anyone know if the generator produces clean energy to power a pellet stove or a computer? I sent a message to Hobart but it's the weekend. I am trying to find out if I should get a smaller generator for more sensitive electronics or not. Thinking about the predator 2000 since I can use the 15 percent off coupon right now. Thanks

I would avoid that scenario, it would cost alot in fuel and they are not a clean enough wave for sensitive electronics. They welder generators work best powering glelectric motors or heating elements. I wouldn't trust a harbor freight genny for a computer. I do however use a honda eu1000i for that kind of stuff.

Your hobart is a much more expensive machine i would trust it to make cleaner power than the **** harbor freight calls a generator

i don't know much but i do know that cost has nothing to do with clean power. yes, you can use a welder generator to make power but it is a damn expensive machine to use 24/7 for that purpose. my take is that they are made as a welder first and generator second to run grinders light and other things that may be needed on the jobsight.

an inverter generator will make cleaner power but you still need to check the specs. either way a good surge protector is a wise investment when using any sensitive electronics on a generator. you don't need to buy a hf generator either. i would seriously look at a champion inverter to power electronics.
