Well,
I searched on here to find someone that had the Geneva line of garage cabinets. No one seemed to have them, except for the guy that used the kitchen cabinets, which by the way looked really good. I remember my grandparents house had those in it.
I actually got with Sears last night and got a set ordered. Craftsman Club gave it a 20% dicount this week. That almost paid for the oversize shipping charges. I tried every way in the world to get them to ship to the store, even though most were in store pickup elidgeable, you can't get them to a store. They'll be here in a week, and I'll post pics and show the transformation of the garage.
Now on to find some flooring.

I just bought some Geneva cabinets from the 50's that I found on craigslist. I stripped the paint off the exterior and painted them using rustoleum hammered texture silver. I think they turned out good. Saved a ton over newer metal, but of course the tradeoff is that they are 60 years old... I'll post up some pictures when I get them up.

Well,
I got the call this morning. The cabinets will be delivered in the morning around 8 a.m. Going to be interesting to get them to the garage. coming on a 45" truck and can get up the driveway. Will be fun. I ordered some Racedec that will be here tomorrow also. Small area were cabinets are going will be covered. Hopefully pics will be here on tomorrows post. Will show before and after shots.

Well, Got them.. I am pleased with the quality of the cabinets themselves. The workbench @ 8' long, weigh a ton. It was all I could do, to get it up on the saw horses so that I could mount the legs.

One of the boxes was damaged, had to refuse that one, hopefully it will be back next week. I will have to call Geneva Manufacturing about their ease of assembly on the bench. Had to do some gringing and drilling to get the braces installed.

Racedec, well what can I say about the fit of the flooring. It looks great. I wish I had another $250 to complete the floor across the front.

Well, Here are the pics.

So how is the best way to get the Geneva stuff? There are none at the store, did you pay the oversized delivery? I found it very expensive. Anywhere from $100-$300..

Did the truck have a liftgate to get it on the driveway at least?

As far as I can tell the cabinets are about the same as gladiator but with red finish.. the work bench is a bit different from Galdiator.

looks very nice BTW.. I love the bench top

It just happened that the Craftsman Club offer last time was 20% off on all storage. This covered the oversized delivery. The more pieces you get the better the pricing, so I paid $350 for the workbench and locker, or I could pay the same amount for those with a roll a round box and 3 wall cabinets. I just decided to bite the bullet and go ahead and get the whole lot. I figured Uncle Sam could pay for it.

I think they are alot different than the Gladiator. First, they are made out of heavier guage material.

The work bench, yes is no where near the Gladiator. This thing is a work of art. The top looks like kitchen quality butcher block. I really hate to put anything on it. HAHA

The truck did come with a lift gate. However two people can get them off with out. Total weight of all the product was 600lbs.

I'll have more done today, with more pictures. Really cleaning out getting rid of all that stuff that I might need sometime that I have had for about 10 years.

Check the weight of the 5 drawer unit on both brands, they are within 2 lbs of each other. The recess handle is the same, dimensions is the same. the bumper is very similar.. so is the rest of the modules.

So that's great, didn't know the delivery fee kind of go flat when you order alot.

Looks like you do some heavy work... Either your bench is going to gain a nice patina soon or you need to baby it LOL. I would recommend getting a piece of this to protect those rough situations.

**May I ask where you get the good year stool like that? It looks great.

It is looking good. I like your wall art.
Curious as to why you did not locate the rolling cabinet on the same wall. It seems you will loose about 1 1/2' of usable bench space.

Yes, I lost about a foot and a half, but I can still get to it, and I will probably just put my battery charger on that end anyway. It's not really as bad as it looks.

Did you get them up yet? Can you post a recent photo of the racedeck floor in your current configurement?

I know this is an old thread. I really want to pull the trigger.... Is the depth sufficient (15in cabinet and 24in rollers)?
