Hi
I moved into a house with an old genie garage door. 1991 i think. Says
"genie deluxe 1/3 hp screwdrive" on the side. model 12a

I found the manual i think works..

It says the safeT beam should be connected to the STB module - but where is that? I cant seem to find it! I have 4 bolts above one light that seem to be for the wall switch and key pad but what is the stb?

Thank you

The beams get connected on the terminal block on the back of the operator.

If you have the schematic the location is identified. Genie did not use 4 wire wall controls like sears or others did. They use 2 wires for wall and 2 wires for safety beams. But the wires go from sending unit to receiving unit. One has a green light the other is orange. The two wires from the opener go to the sending eye then to the receiving eye. Their system differs from the more common liftmaster.
