genie door opener

i got a genie opener for christmas, what do you guys think of them?

I have had excellent service from my Genie garage door openers. I understand Genie has been taken over by new owners, and their openers have been redesigned.

I have found their customer service, over the telephone to be excellent. They have honored the lifetime warranty on units purchased 12 years.

Hopefully, you will enjoy your Genie and live a long healthy life.

thanks for the reply, i forgot to mention this is belt drive, is that as reliable as a chain drive?

If someone has given you a new Garage Door Opener from a respected maker, thank them and enjoy their kind gift.

I used to have a Genie door opener and it was great. It lasted for decades and worked well. It should work out fine for you.

My attached 2 car garage has both a Genie and a Sears, which were here when I bought the house 7 years ago. The Genie is very noisy, the Sears is very quiet. Other than that, I've not had any problems with either. I don't know how old they are.

I installed a pair of Genie screw-drives when we built our house in '93.

I have to replace batteries in the remotes every three or four years.

The light bulbs usually last six or seven years between replacement.
