I have a twenty year old Genie Intellicode opener. Some days it will work fine. Other days it stops as it is going up or down. Sometimes will reverse or just stop where it is at. It may be stop after moving a few inches and the next time may go half way or farther. Never at the same spot. I have checked all wiring connections. I replaced wall switch and also wireless keypad. It happens at all times of the day or night. I do not know what to look at next other than replacing the entire opener. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My go to for my Genie Openers is their Tech Support line 1-800-843-4084

The Genie openers I have purchased came with a Lifetime Warranty

Good Luck

what about wiring faults or dust or spiderwebs on the beam / detector / interruptor?

You've told us your problem but absolutely nothing about any attempts to troubleshoot or condition of parts.

I have one and it was doing the same thing, it was a bad connection between the electrical outlet and the openers plug. I bent the prongs a little and it was fixed.

Thanks for the reply's. I contacted Genie Tech Support. They had me manually open door and then re-engage carrier, push to open and same thing to close. It went up and down. They said the opener works fine and there was nothing else they could help me with. Lost faith in Tech Support. I have lubed screw drive, rollers and rails. I don't find any binds when opening or closing manually. The only thing left I haven't done is replace board. I am now believing it may be less money and time to just replace.

The genie screw drives in my garage have a slip clutch. If it slips it will stop the opener. I think it will reverse if the door was going down.

I had a little trouble with one of mine stopping occasionally. Tightened the slip clutch a little and it works fine.

I recently have same issue~ I believe it may be the seal in circuit on the motor starter. If manual button is held for longer than two seconds- it works every time. If using remote or a quick push on manual it is very intermittent. Any suggestion for this issue ?
