So I’m looking for new impact sockets, I do have snap on and Cornwell, but I’m ready for a new set.I know that Genius Tools are made in Taiwan, and I’m sure they are not the same quality as the truck brands.
Anyone’s used they tools before ????

I had a genius 3/8 shallow and deep metric impact sockets. I didn't care for them. They shared socket blanks between sizes so, the smaller size would have thick walls while the larger size had thinner walls.

If you're going to buy Taiwan made Impact sockets, stick with Grey Pneumatic or Sunex. they will serve you well in harsh daily use, and won't break the bank.

If you already have Snap On impacts, why would you even think about downgrading to Taiwanese sockets?

Same why down grade. Plus if you already have snap on just use them unless your looking to expand and add more different versions then what you have? You can use chrome sockets with impacts. I do all the time and know many people that go as well. Sure one or two have broke over the years but impact sockets may ever have broke them too. But even if your looking to add styles then why not go More snappy or other nicer brands. You will not be happy downgrading unless there’s a reason to.

Not all taiwan are a downgrade, I have snapon, had mac (got returned) and have taiwan.
The taiwan holding up best (way less deforming compared to newer truck sockets I have/had) and have ergonomic design I prefer .
Main issue with usa or big brands is current production preference is making them softer with cr-mo and tempering spec for lawsuit/safety concerns .

i have had one set of metric sockets from them. used daily for 15 years on Semi trucks never broke one. they do have some issues getting in some spots because of wall thickness,

That's it. Genius are ok. There are other Taiwan sourced sockets that have nicer features, etc. Honestly just about every current production Taiwan impact socket is usable.

I'm using Genius/Pittsburgh Pro/GP at work and don't have any complaints. The Genius are a little beefier, but similar in size to the HFs. The GP are my favorite and most used. All of them are great for the money. I would rank them GP > Genius > HF. Make sure you buy the CM sets if you go Genius, not the TM sets.
