genius tools

just won a 3/8 stubby on ebay and realized that ive never even heard of this brand.Does anyone know anything about them,or even use their tools.or are they one of those ebay off brands.

My brother has the 1/4 47pc socket ratchet set and it is very good quality!!!
The ratchet is coarse but the sockets and extensions have held up great!!

good,i looked them up and it appears that they are mostly from canada,i won the ratchet for 8 bucks so im a little skeptical.But a stubby ratchet definitely will come in handy.

They use a Mapleleaf as a trademark but, they're from Taiwan.

OT, but funny. I just read in Readers' Digest about a 7th grade girl who wore a T-shirt to school that said Guiness on it. When the teacher told her that she could not wear a T-shirt with the name of a beer on it, she said: "Oh, I thought it said Genius!".

I have a couple of their swivel head "roto" ratchets and they are pretty nice, especially for the price. They are almost a carbon copy of the SO version roto's, but the little ridges on the head where you grip it to change direction are a bit too tall at the corners- I've pinched the hell out of my palm more than once when using the 3/8 ratchet. I compared it to my 1/4 snap on and the ridges on the snap on are a bit shorter and seem to taper down as they get to the edge of the head, thus eliminating this pinch point....


I think I'm gonna file my ridges down a bit to see if that helps.

The harbor freight roto heads have the same raised ridges which are kind of sharp. I actually kind of like it because it make it easier to change directions, although I haven't pinched myself yet.
Ruffles also have ridges.
