Fill it full of helium. It will lift itself. You then just guide it into place.

well is being shipped to you is new or used?
if it is being shipped to you most trucking companies have lift gates.
have them unload buy harbor freight mover dolly which hold 1000 lbs fill in center with osb move it off lift gate to dolly and push up driveway you and 1 or 2 friends can get this done. move into place tilt it off the dolly and done.

I've decided to get a 60 Gallon compressor to run air tools I use.
The only problem - it weighs 430 pounds.

Does anyone have any suggestions for moving this honker into place, that have actually done this? Obviously manpower can only do so much, so...

Have the delivery truck drop the compressor at the top of your driveway.

Working by myself, I moved my Champion 80 gallon vertical into place with an engine hoist.

Working with 3 other people, we moved a bigger vertical with two pipes. Each pipe slid through underneath the mount platform, picked up with a shoulder. Four guys, piece of cake.

Another way to pick up a compressor is using a nylon sling under the mount platform.

None of these methods is risky at all. 430 pounds is not a lot of weight to move. I have moved machines up to 3500 pounds by myself. Just go slow and keep your wits about you.

You guys do realize the OP was buying the compressor almost 9 months ago?

Do you think all these posts were meant only for the OP?
I'm pretty sure anyone looking to move a compressor would be reading this thread.

Not sure why people around here get such a kick out of being the first in to ridicule someone that posts relavant info to an old thread, but here's your prize:

depends on where it is at and where it needs to go. when you say into place I assume it is in the garage already. I have dollys and stuff but I just rocked /walked mine across the floor and into place.

if you try that do not get much top tilt, very top heavy.

That's what I did.....It's also how they moved the Easter Island Statues

Recently got a 60 gal HF/BelAire unit and put it in a mezzanine. Loaded in truck on side, slid out and tipped down. Walked it into the garage with two guys. Then broke down into 3 pieces and took each up separately. No problem for two guys.

First off, I did not **** on anyone. Second don't read tone and inflection into a question where there is none written or implied. Third, the OP abandoned this thread the day after he created it 8 months ago. Fourth, with a rudimentary search, it's pretty easy to find the 100+ other threads here about buying and moving a compressor.

Lastly, if you don't like it, then reach over and hit the Report button.

I moved mine by myself, removed the pump and motor then used a hand truck to get the tank moved, then the pump & motor were reinstalled, here is a photo when it was disconnected & moved out of the way for painting.

That back part of the shop was later demoed & replaced.

The existing roof was still in place as dirt floor was replaced with concrete, & proper footings.

After most of the existing structure was demoed.

Before the place got cluttered, but before the pump wiring got cleaned up, the wiring irked me for years.

Now back to the original topic, be careful, compressors are heavy & expensive, and injuries are also expensive to treat.
