Just got the word that my lift will be delivered next Tuesday (5/31).

My flooring should be completely cured by tomorrow. :bounce:

I'm getting very close to being done! :rocker:

Going to start bringing the toys back this weekend, set up the work area, and get with the electrician about finishing up a few items after the lift is in - I'm happy.

Sorry - not a lot of substance to this post - just had to share! :hellobye:

I went with a Rotary four post lift. I definitely wanted a four post, not a two post. The other big factor is that I wanted it dropped off at my house, carried to my garage, and installed for me. A lot of sales reps told me how easy it was to set these things up, and all I needed was a couple of buddies to help get it off the truck, and blah blah blah. My only response to that was, "Good, then I expect your installation charges to be minimal." That eliminated about 2/3 of the companies I talked to right there.

So who'd you order it from? I will be ordering a Rotary two post one day.

(CONGRATS on getting to the "Bringing the toys back" stage! That is a good day!)

I went to the Rotary website, got a list of dealers in my area, and started calling around. Got it narrowed down to two pretty quickly, and then went on price - which, fortunately, was also the company I liked the best.

Pics from this week. Hope to have the majority of stuff moved back in after this weekend, although my '67 is having some paint work done, so I wont' consider it truly finished until she is home! :)

Sweet :rocker: I have a couple questions..

How high are the walls?

Don't you need either trusses or joists in there for support?

As you can see, there's some bracing up there in the roof, but it's WAY up there. The concrete block is 8.5 feet tall, and we added a 2 foot footer wall around the top before adding the new roof. The lowest point is the garage door opener which is just a tick over 10.5 feet tall.

The lift, ordered, taxed, shipped and unpacked to my driveway, and professionally installed (and tested) came to roughly $4K. All of that also gets me some nice ramps, a couple of drip pans, a spiffy warranty and some free inspections throughout the year. I could have probably gotten that to well under $3500 had I wanted to hassle with pickup and installation myself. As I told the sales guy, it would have taken more than $500 worth of beer and pizza (and medical expenses, I am sure) to convince my friends to help with that!
