Getting over spray off a lift.

Hello all! I purchased a used lift and the previous owner painted his car on the lift! Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to remove the over spray? I've tried power washing and that didn't work. Obviously sanding would work but that would take a long time and I would have to buff it afterwords!

Thanks in advance!

See if your lift is powder coated. My HD-9 Bendpak is. If so, try something like carb cleaner or reducer to see if it wipes off. That shouldn't affect the powdercoat.

Do this at your own risk though! :shocking: (test a hidden area first)

You could try "Graffiti Remover," -- it's sold in most home centers, in a spray can -- but if the paint's been on for a while, you might have to live with it.

Goof-Off may remove it. Put it on a rag and wipe the area. If not, you may have to live with it as mentioned.

Rubbing compound should get it off. So should lacquer thinner but it might also affect the original finish.
