A few years back a burnout in the garage on the bike sounded like fun...well, it was...on both bikes, actually. It was fun...but...

Now, I am prepping the floor and had someone come in with a dual head Edco grinder. I am thinking that the burnout area may have been a low spot that was just lightly touched with the grinder, and it appears that there still might be some rubber embedded in the concrete. It looks like a black stain.

I tried pouring some water on it, and it didn't bead up, but it didn't soak in right away either.

Any ideas on what I should do (if anything) before coating the floor?

Would anyone recommend against lacquer thinner? If not, how long should I let it dry before painting? I am needing to get paint down as soon as possible, so I don't run into another month's storage fees.

Lacquer thinner and a wire brush worked great. The floor is down...mixed results. The heat here in FL appears to be an issue that I was unaware of. It's 85-90 degrees, and the working time is reduced. This caused an issue with uneven application. I have another kit on the way and will be repainting some time soon.

Depending on what type of epoxy you are using, as long as the surface was ground properly, the stain should not affect a 100% solids epoxy adhesion.
Please call or PM me if you need more info on this.
