I was reading through that CNC post and it sounds like there are some machinist here. I'd like to ask what it might cost to get one of you guys to turn me a stainless axle made for my triple tree.

This is the best picture I've got of one on hand. The stock piece has the lower tree welded to it whereas I would like to make the upper and lower tree out of aluminum.

I work in a job shop and we have 4 Haas 3 axis machines, but we're set up to run light metal, plastics and foam, and we don't have a lathe. I'll be making the two aluminum trees, but I need the axle done for me. I would supply data which I would produce in Surfcam, and could export to you as an .IGES, a .SCPRT, or simply a spec'd drawing if preferred. It wouldn't matter to me if it was CNCd or hand milled as long as the critical surfaces were right. I could even supply the machinist with the OEM part for refferance. The part is small so I care little where it's done as shipping to here in Texas should be manageable.
