Getting Started on Finishing Garage

Hi everyone,

We just bought a house in late 2016, and finishing the garage is high on my priorities list. One of the first jobs that needs to be done is drywall. I want to put drywall on the wall that the door is on, but the door tracks are bolted directly to the wood. What are my options for finishing this wall? Do I need to remove all the garage hardware, put the drywall up, then put the garage door back up? Any other options for finishing?

Here are some photos:

I'd frame around it and drywall up to the 1x2 frame. Leave it alone. Paint it all to match.

I completely agree with Kaizen.
You don't want to remove the hardware as it will never be as tight.
Frame around it and blend it in.
Show before and after pics too.
We all like pics.
