Looking for some long (5-6'), shallow (24-30") work benches for the wall of my garage that are sturdy, solid wood top, and are open on the bottom so I can store my portable air compressor and welder underneath.

Where to get them? I didn't see anything good from northen, depot, or lowes.

Try Gladiator Garageworks workbenches. I have a couple and they are VERY sturdy. www.garageappeal.com seems to have good prices currently. Sears generally has them on sale quite a lot. They have 4', 6', and 8' lengths with maple/butcherboard style tops.

Ha! I was just looking at those on the internet too! Any suggestions on the bamboo laminate vs maple? I'm going to ask for one (or two) for Christmas.

I plan to put on a table top drill press, vice, and bench grinder.
