I wasn't a member here when you first posted so I'm glad this project came back to the front. Fantastic place:thumbup:!!

Don't feel bad, I've been working on my little garage for 7 years!! My money tree goes through some severe droughts too!!

I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of your project come together!

Tbird it was a ruff go for a few days but then you either cry in your beer or get started and make it as right as you can. Oh the projects which one to start with?
I have 2 of these with one torn down ready for blasting and both veeder roots completed so I will get going on one of these again real soon.

This is the computer before and after;

Also have a collage of stuff like parking meters, comdom machine for the bathroom, a fire call box, and other odd bits that will get done.
groupshot.jpg

And I some how ended up with 3 of these, but 1 will be sold to help get the others done.

And if I didn't have anything esle going on I started to pick up some of these that all need to be buffed and polished (bad picture).

Then there are the more long term projects

And this does not inculde the Econoline pickup, or the bandsaw I'm doing, or the surface grinder or the little AMMCO shaper and the list goes on.
However I do finish somethings.

OneWay Thanks and if you mean the machine tools and welders and such I made a decision a few years to get these verus buying a new truck... I am still driving the old truck:lol_hitti

Tinbender yeah it takes some time but this is my last shop (I hope) and have been thinking about it for 40 years so it is great to be at a point in my life that I am able to do something like this.

a quick note on your air compressor room, it needs to breathe! It needs both make up air and cooling air. My compressor is in an 8x8x9 shed with roof vents and vented soffit and when I use a lot of air, while blasting etc., that shed gets hot!

I love your "all things cars" approach. Great gas pump, great air pump, great cars, and everything else. Looks like you have a bunch of fun projects lined up for that awesome new garage! Regards.

Thanks everyone it is nice to start to see it come together but still lots to do:headscrat
Evildky that picture was taken before the air comp was put in. I have now put a large vent in the door and it has both a ridge and soffit vent. I used it last summer with this set up and although it got hot I hope it wasn't excessive.
Again thanks everyone for the support

Have been spending the last few weeks getting the office into shape. I not only had the same sheetrock finish/paint issues in here but also decided that the way to finish the two rows of block was to sheetrock it. I screwed the rock to the sill and using tapcons and large 6x6 wooden washers I glued the rock to the block. After it cured I removed the tapcons and started to finish.

It started like this,

Don't have any pics of the rock work but after I got that done I started on the tile,

After a couple of days I was here,

I am going to put up a rail around the shop on three sides to hold the beer taps. This is what I will be using,

And last night I got the desk unit installed and the computer up and going.

I have some old Marine buds coming to visit for my birthday later this month so I am trying to get several things done to show my progress from their last visit. Will post any thing worthy.

I know a few of the hardliners will think that I don't do any work in my garage by looking at the following pictures. Even my best buddy has his doubts about the use of this much space, but what the hell it is my shop and this is what I wanted. Not sure it is correct to say this but I think I have finished my office with the exception of the TV. Not sure when that may happen. But anyway here are a few shots from each corner of the room.

This 1st one is from the entry door

The 2nd one is from the desk area.

The 3rd one is opposite the entry door. The future TV will be above the motorcycle.

And the last one is looking at the desk

Thought I would post a few more pictures while the shop was in its clean phase. It is a rare occurrence and does not last long at all.

This shows one side of the machine shop.

This is the other side which has the small things grinder belt sander and drill press

This is the workbench I made using 2 harbor freight tool boxes and a 2" maple top from ebay. I put a 3rd set of swivel wheels in the middle after bolting the boxes together so they can be rolled out for cleaning. you can also see the air tool holder as well as my sandpaper rack.

This is the Lista workbench I got for free as they were throwing it out. Also the band saw I am returning to service, you may see a few parking meters that I am trying to get back together.

The welding area with my TIG, MIG, and plasma cutter.

And last a overall shot of the main bay.

Still have quite a few things on the list such as airlines and the main/machine shop floors and a mini-split unit for the office and I am sure many other things that will come up as time goes on.

Well to prove that a shop is never finished here is what I did the last two weekends. I work out of state now so time is at home is a rare commodity. Now most will ask why the heck does he need a deck on a shop? But if you take a look at the first post and I drew one in the plan so I had to build it. Still have several things on the list.

This is the site after hacking down the weeds:

Getting started:

Got the post set:

And the help enjoying a beverage after a job well done:

That's it for now but a few other thins are in the works:D

I was looking at what I had posted several years ago and like many others saw that nothing could be seen because of the photo bucket issue. I took a little time today to see if I could dig up the pics that were blurred out. I haven't gotten all of them back but do have most. As for the captions I tried to keep them in order. It also showed me that I had other stuff to show so I may do that in the near future.

Thanks for looking

Randall, wow, what can I say but that is a great space! Never saw it before and it's got to be in my top 10 shops on GJ. Really like the layout with the machine room bump out and the awesome office. Would love to hang out in there for several hours lol. :bounce: Did you ever think of getting an old tanker style desk with a fresh coat of paint in there, I think it would look so cool. :pimpflash
Love your econoline too. Best of luck in your shop I wish you many years of use and great projects.
