I just picked up another job at the local garage doing flunky work and they want me to bring my tool box (normal). However they do not sent a flatbed or provide for any accommodations, How have you guys gotten big boxes moved about easily? I know I could just go out and rent a trailer I just thought I'd exhaust all other means first.

Also has anyone seen a good deal on hansen socket organizers \ trays? The ones with the posts.

Thanks!

Picked up the whole set at sears the other day for around $11 for the 1/2 inch. $10 for the 3/8 and something like $8.50 for the 1/4.

That's awesome, I had no idea Sears had the hansen trays. Thanks much!

You buddy with any tool guys? They generally don't have a problem moving a box for a good customer. The only thing is if you have a big box that is heavy, their tommy gates can't lift those so you may have to unload it. Other wise just push it on a trailer and move it. I have never had an employer offer to move my box, that was on me.

I saw a guy at the BMW dealership have his Snap On box loaded on a flatbed wrecker. I would just rent a trailer like posted above.

I'll have to do this soon when I move. I'm not looking forward to unloading everything

Glad to see someone using some good straps instead of those 4 for $19.99 straps that they sell at Wal Mart.

Chadster,
I need to fess up. Those are actually 2" HF ratchet straps.

However I used 4 sets just in case!!

Sounds like a good excuse to buy a small utility trailer. If you get one give thought to security, the tweakers are stealing them here. Suggest taking hubs and wheels off, greasing axle to prevent rust.

:wtf:

What is a "tweaker" and why do they want cheap import trailers? :dunno:

My unfenced backyard is stocked up with easy to steal scrap metal. I'm surprised (but grateful) nothing has disappeared.

Small utility trailer is your best bet. I used a 8x10' one with a ramp last time I had to move my toolbox. Use lots of straps and 2x4's.

tweakers = slang for drug addicts. Around here they are responsible for a lot of thefts, not just trailers. My theory is that trailers are easily taken out of state and sold.

Not my theory and reported just as a matter of interest: Newspaper accounts say addicts are stealing Tide detergent to pay for drugs. Drug dealer will take Tide in payment for drugs, then resells it. After reading the above mentioned article I seem to remember seeing a table of Tide for sale at the flea market.
