GFCI Breaker - Daisy Chain Neutral Wire

Hello,

I am installing a small breaker box for a pool circuit.
The pool pump is 220v.

So I went out and bought two GFCI 15 amp breakers.
These are manufactured by Eaton.

On these breakers, the neutral wire going to the circuit gets hooked up to the breaker itself.
The load wire going to the circuit also goes to the breaker itself, as is typical.

These GFCI breakers then have a small neutral wire themselves which is the one you hook up to the neutral bus bar.

My question: Being my circuit will be 220, how can I connect the neutral line of the circuit to both breakers?
There are double-pole GFCI breakers, yet I don't have them on-hand.

Can I have the neutral wire of the circuit go into one breaker, and from there daisy-chain to the second breaker?
All while keeping both breakers' neutral wires connected to the neutral bus bar?

You need a 2-pole GFCI breaker for 240 volt, no other way. This is for a spa, not a pool. You need a spa disconnect with in sight of the spa, but no closer than 5 ft to the wall of the spa. The 2-pole GFCI breaker usually goes in there. You just need a standard 2-pole breaker in your panel feeding the disconnect

Plus you are going to need a 50 or 60 amp circuit for that spa, not 15 amp

yeah thats not gonna work. each breaker is independent so sharing the neutrals wont work for the GFCI load measuring circuitry.

The pump needs a double pole breaker and no need to connect the neutral since 240v motor doesnt have a neutral.

but is the pump the only load on this breaker box?

also what is the brand and model on the breaker panel? the brand and model of breaker you use needs to be listed for use in your panel.

If your panel is not an Eaton and the same model as the breaker, then those breakers wont work.

where did he say this is for a SPA? he said its for a pool circuit

Thank you everyone for the feedback.


I ended up ordering a new 2-pole 220-volt GFCI breaker.
Even if what I wanted to do "could work", it was a hack job truth be told.


When this new breaker arrives I will install everything as per-code.


On the other hand, the two GFCI Eaton 15-amp single-pole breakers (110-volt) I have on-hand, I will use them around the house. Additional safety is always welcomed.
