Does anyone have first hand experience in having a GFCI at the beginning of a circuit, and a surge outlet down stream? :headscrat

Are there any potential risks or down sides in having both devices on one circuit? :headscrat

Could the GFCI protection be compromised if a surge outlet is some where down stream on the line.

Insight . . .

i would consult the manufacturer of the surge device about supplying it from a GFCI. some surge protection devices have leagage to ground inherent in their design, and you may end up with the gfci tripping from cumulative leakage. half a milliamp here, milliamp there adds up to the 4-6ma trip for a gfci pretty quick
