Hello, I am a newbie here. I have a two questions regarding GFCI installation in my garage. I plan on using multiple GFCI receptacles for safety and convenience. My first question is whether the exterior GFCI has to be the first GFCI connected to the panel on a multiple GFCI circuit My second question is whether the Leviton Smartlockpro TR GFCI receptacles, which have screw platse with two wire spaces at each terminal, allows for connecting two hots or two neutrals to each respective terminal. Could not find answer on NEC site. Just trying to free up space within the boxes by not using wire nuts. :headscrat

You're good on using both wire spaces per terminal. Per Leviton: Expanded wiring options with eight back-wire holes (two for each line and load connection) plus ground with an internal clamp.

You only need one GFCI per circuit to be protected. The only advantage to having multiple GFCI's is that if it trips you only have to reset/lose power to the one receptacle.

The exterior GFCI can be anywhere on the circuit. It only has to be GFCI protected by Code.

Thanx much. I thought as much but meandering through NEC articles is a PITA. Hard to find anything there. While I have your attention may I ask one other question. I understand that I can install more than one 240 volt receptacle on a circuit. Also, that the receptacles can be 15 or 20 amp 240 volt receptacle even if the circuit is connected to a 30 amp GFCI breaker?

Some local codes allow only one outlet on circuits greater than 20 amps. You are not to use outlets rated for less amperage than the circuit protection. A 30A circuit is not to have an outlet rated for less than 30A.
