I think I’ve narrowed my choice down to using the epoxy 325 & top coat with 645. Anyone with this combination on there floor that could give some real world experience? I was looking at ucoat with chips and clear but think the ghost shield would be the better for the money. It’s looking to be .96 a square ft for 1200 sqft.

What are you using the space for? The GhostShield 325 is a low solids water-based epoxy with a very thin coat (2-3 mils DFT). It's closest competitor would be something like EpoxyShield water-based epoxy. The UCoat water-based epoxy is a higher solids with a 4-6 mils DFT.

The GhostShield system of epoxy and polyurethane consists of 1 coat of epoxy and 1 coat of polyurethane for a total DFT of 4-6 mils. The UCoat system consists of 2 coats of epoxy and 1 coat of polyurethane for a total DFT of 8-12 mils.

It’s a home shop everything from drag cars to compact tractor stuff. I will be doing light fabrication work now and then, but most heavy fab is done elsewhere.

I would recommend a higher solids / higher quality product for a busy workshop like that. The type of system you are currently looking at would work OK if you were just parking cars and doing some light maintenance work.

Some of the vendors here can most likely put together a very high solids commercial quality epoxy system for you somewhere in the $1.50 per square foot price range. Most of these include an epoxy primer, high solids to 100% solids epoxy color base coat, and a high performance polyurethane top coat.

I realize that 50-60 cents per square foot adds up quickly for an area of that size, but you would be more than disappointed with the outcome of what you are currently looking at. The extra money spent will save you the time and aggravation of choosing an under performing system for the type of use you are planning for the space.
