Desperately needing to get my floor densified with 4500 and then the 8510 so I can get moved in. Im located in NC and right now the temps are about 50*f during the day and drop into the low 30's at night. I was hoping to do the 4500 this sunday. The forecast is high of 52, low is 30. Are those temps too risky? If it makes any difference, its a block foundation filled entirely of 3/4 stone and 6-7'' of concrete.

Mix the 4500 with hot water instead of cold and start the application at 50 degrees and rising.
Ghostshield which we carry publishes their application instructions online. Make sure to follow them but 30’s is too cold. Temps should be at least 40 during application, and not less than 32.

Thanks for the replies. It will be atleast 50 degrees when I apply it, with a high today of 54. but I don't know what the actual slab temp will be. Do I need to measure the slab surface temp and wait for that to reach 50? If so I may be out of luck until spring.

Ok, so I applied the 4500 today. Surface temp was low 40's and air temp was a touch over 50. I warmed the shop best I could (not yet insulated) I don't know how in the world you could put 4 gallons (1 gallon 4500, 3 gallons water) on 1000 square feet. I had about a gallon left and I apparently still HAD WAY TO MUCH ON THE FLOOR. Here it is over an hour later and still not close to dry. I've broomed it in, I've even sopped some of it up with towels. It is drying just at a very slow pace.

When I did mine it was fall, so no worry on the temperature. But that being said it sprayed quick on my 2100 sq.ft. Took hours though with the roller watching for the pooling. I was done with the spraying around noon, out with the roller until 11 pm. Stuff works great though.

The bottom line with a denifier and sealer is every slab is different. You apply until saturation but do not allow it to puddle or if it does puddle you clean roll it up. 8510 Is solvent based and intended to be a flood coat, so that is different.
Well, today I applied the 8510. Temp was a nice 64*f. I had 3 gallons for a "flood coat" on 900 sq ft. I applied it at noon, and here it is 10:40pm and the floor is still not even close to dry.
All I can say is, I really hope this ghost shield works better then it has applied. So far it (4500 and 8510) hasn't reacted at all like the directions say. Hope I haven't wasted my $400

When I did mine and it was the 4500 densifier. Once it dried, I had little crystalline structures pop up. Looked like mold but ended up being what I think was minerals in the concrete. You can see them in the photo as dark areas. They swept up but it was weird looking at first.

First and foremost, and I mean this the nicest way possible, if you are having an install issue, email me the pictures so I can have a look and get the manufacturer involved and help you out. I get it, your frustrated. The issue is likely not the 8510. First glance looks like too much 4500, but need more info and the pics. When I say I get it..... Saturday I drove 1.5 hours to find some dry dirt to ride a brand new mountain bike I had just purchased and brought back once because of issues and it fell apart on the trail. I get the frustration but I need your help to help you.

You will find dozens if not hundreds of successful applications of this product here. You cant allow the densifier to puddle and you need to make sure you don't have a previous sealer on the floor. That + 50 degrees and rising temps, this application is as easy as it gets.

I didnt write that so I could stomp on the product. I plan on using it myself. Hundreds of successful applications dont help me. Finding out what one person did wrong and avoiding it provides me with far more help.
Can you explain a bit more what you mean by "flood coat?" Is it simply pour on (in moderation) and use a paint roller to spread?
I will say this. Install was no fun. It didn't react in any way like it was said. It puddled. It took days to dry. A friend applied 4500 the same week with the same trouble. Thinking maybe it was the weather? I dunno, temps were within spec, but just barley. No rain. If I put only enough material down that it would dry in one minute, I could have done all my 900sq ft with about a quart of material. Maybe less. Maybe I put way too much material on? I was going off the advertised coverage and expected to use an entire gallon on 900sq ft.
ANYWAY, EVEN WITH THE INSTALL TROUBLES, THIS STUFF IS AWESOME!! wife spilled a whole can of soda and it just sat on the surface. I cleaned it up but intentionally left a dime size drop of the soda on the floor over night. Still sitting on the surface the next morning. Haven't tried any chemicals yet but I expect similar results.

I am glad it worked for you. 4500 SHOULD NOT puddle. 8510 you want complete saturation.

Apply 8510 at 300 Sq. Ft. per gallon using a chemical resistant sprayer and do not worry if the concrete is over saturated
