Four year old concrete driveway. Originally densified and sealed with Ghostshield Lithi-Tek 4500 and Siloxa-Tek 8505. Worked OK, but was not particularly impressed by the protection...spalling still occurred in a few high-traffic areas. Perhaps it was sprayed on too thin, although two coats and nearly 8 gallons were used.
. Brushing wasn't necessary as puddling did not occur.
Fast forward a few years. Ahead of the winter brine and salt, I wanted to do everything possible to protect this driveway. Contacted Ghostshield (Kretetek Industries), and they recommended Iso-Tek 8100 as it offers deeper penetration and, presumably, better protection. Since I had to treat 1000 sq ft, and 8100 is only available in 5 gallon buckets, they recommended I mix one gallon of 8510 (which is also solvent-based).
Powerwashed using a rotary surface cleaner (one of the best inventions ever!). Let everything dry and tried the mix. Wow. The penetration was worlds better than the water-based 8505. After about a week, the sealer was expected to have fully cured.
Since sealing, we've had a lot of rain and I've washed a few cars. The hydrophobic nature of the 8100 is pretty incredible. Nice to see how easily BMW brake dust is hosed off the wet concrete. I'll be curious to see how long it lasts.
