If you have been thinking about using Ghostshield we have some huge news, but some basic stuff first.

Answers to Questions:

No it can not be buffed to a sheen
Dawn and water, ZEP, Simple Green or other non acidic degreaser and water is the preferred prep.

Big News

While their official installation instructions still call for two coats wet on wet there has been a major tech update. They have determined that a single flood coat of 8510 is MORE effective than two coats of 8505. The single flood coat is approved with this note: Two coats wet on wet will still be more effective and is suggested for high use and or commercial locations.

For flood coat on interior concrete you would figure your coverage at about 300 and you would spray until completely saturated. This cuts the cost nearly in half. For most of us this is an absolutely find application.

Hi Justin,

this sounds like exactly what I am looking for - my currently being built garage/shop will be roughly 1,400 sqft and used for vehicle storage and mechanical automotive work as a hobby. Am I seeing this right that I should be good with a gallon of TL37 cut 50% with water and 5 gallons of 8510 7 days later? Also, the 8510 is sprayed, how about the TL37?

Thanks for your help already in advance,

Both products are sprayed on. 5 gallons would be fine for the flood coat. To keep it simple I would do 1 gallon of their 4500 as opposed to the 37 and dilute it 4:1

Well, if the gloss product works half as well as the present product they will have a winner.

How well does 8510 hold up to brake/carb clean? What about welding/grinding sparks?

Hi All:

I thought a couple of photos may be in order regarding Truelock TL37 Densifier and Ghostshield 8510.

We have completed the application of the TL37 on our new driveway, sidewalks and patio. Easy peasy. The weather and falling leaves have prevented us from completing the application of the Ghostshield 8510, but we have completed the front & rear sidewalks and patio.

Attached are photos of the unsealed driveway and the sealed front sidewalk. Notice the nasty leaf stains on the unsealed driveway. The two sections abut one another. I'd say we chose correctly using both Truelock's TL37 and Ghostshield 8510.

I was planning on having the garage floor (new as well) professionally finished but may just use the TL37 and Ghostshield and call it good.

A big thank you to Justin Krauss at Garage Flooring for all his assistance.

Would this help cut down on dust as well or just repel oil?

My experience with recently applied 4500 and 8510[2 wet coats] is that it does reduce concrete dusting.

Regarding oil-stain resistance, for me it has been working OK provided that oil spills are cleaned up promptly. Last week I found a dime-sized oil drop that had been there for I think a few days. I scrubbed the area with Simple Green and now that it is dry I can still see the remnants of the oil stain.
