The concrete in my 20x24 pole barn is ready for me to apply my Ghostshield 4500 and 8510. My overhead door (14x8) was supposed to be installed yesterday. The install company called me yesterday and advised me that the vendor never delivered my high lift tracks. The installer advised me that the vendor won't have the high lift tracks for 6-7 weeks!!!!! The installer stated they would try and rectify the problem in the mean time.
Can/should I apply the 4500 and 8500 with no overhead door? Or should I wait until the overhead door gets installed?
The overhead door/open side of my pole barn gets most of the afternoon and evening sun if that helps the decision.

I don't know anything about these products, but having done my floor recently, my advice is to wait and avoid forcing a bad decision.

For my project, it's been delay after delay for one reason or another. It was supposed to be done mid June, but my workshop still isn't finished. I was going to do the garage floor last weekend, but because of the heat wave, I didn't want to apply the polyurea (can only be applied with ambient temps 50-90F). It's raining tomorrow so I decided to hold off a few more days. The concrete has been shot blasted for two weeks and I'm just waiting for the right time to do it.

That said, perhaps you can mitigate this by using a large tarp over the opening? I've seen videos where people hang thin plastic sheeting to keep dust out. I suspect they then close the garage doors while the product is curing. My concern would be that wind would pick up and blow the tarp/plastic onto your flooring, which would cause a real mess.

I'm not sure about Ghostshield, but I know that epoxy and polyurea shouldn't be done in direct sunlight, as I believe it causes the product to cure faster and may create problem areas.

It ***** to wait, but it'll **** more if you try to force the flooring to happen. My advice is to accept the delay and try again in Oct.

Did mine with ghostshield products. No doors and 600 square foot apron. Stuff works great. Mine was done in October.
Edit: I did wait for the evening to do the apron. I let things cool off a bit before applying the products.

Both products can be used for exterior concrete. I’d do it.

exactly...

people treat their driveways/sidewalks with this stuff, so not having a door on a covered garage wouldnt phase me at all.

Its not like its a coating that could get **** stuck to it if it blows in.
