Ghostshield One Coat or Two?

Hi,
We have had a number of inquiries regarding when using Ghostshield is one coat or two required since the manufacturer's info recommends two coats, but some info posted online or GJ says only one coat.

We contacted the factory and the information supplied back to us is below.

1. The 4500 Densifier should always be used. Wait about seven days after densifying and before applying the Ghostshield Sealer.

2. 8505 is not suitable for a single flood coat. Only the 8510 can be single flood coated.

3. A flood coat method is not 'promoted' by the factory but under certain circumstances it can be done, and one coat is not for all types of installations. The manufacturer also advised us that "The one coat application method does not supersede their published instructions". Ghostshield 8510 can be applied as a single flood coat over the densified floor but ONLY on SMOOTH concrete and ONLY indoors. If your garage has a somewhat irregular finish, spalling or salt damage, broom finish, etc then you need two coats, or if your project is outside like driveways, sidewalks, patios, etc then two coats are required.

Our recommendation is to use two coats and 'play it safe', but for economical reasons you can get away with one flood coat per above if desired.

A single flood coat of 8510 over interior concrete will actually deliver more solids than two coats of 8505.
