I just had my shop floor poured on Monday and Tuesday and was planning to seal it with lithitec 4500 and siloxa tec 8510 from ghostshield. Before spending $1500-2000 I emailed concretesealersupply with a few questions and they responded with the following:

"On a power troweled surface, you’re going to want to do a water test to make sure that the concrete is porous enough for the products to get good absorption. It’s pretty simple, pour a 2 oz cup of water into a puddle on the surface and wait 10 minutes. If all of the water has absorbed and you have a dark water stain, the Ghostshield products will absorb. If after 10 minutes, you still have a puddle, you may just have to use Eco-Etch 1001 just to open up the surface pores so that the products can properly penetrate."

I'm assuming that it will fail the water test because it's like glass after the power troweling but etching it seems counter productive though. Is there another product that works on a very smooth floor? What would you do?

Well, don't do anything until it's cured for 28 days. If it doesn't absorb water at that point you could etch or rent a floor sander.

Yes, it would be counter-productive. I am going to be leaving for the holiday weekend shortly but I would encourage you to send me this as an email and we will get a specific set of instructions for you direct with Ghostshield.

Typically the adjustment is on the 4500 and a single coat of 8510
