Giant Chain Pliers

Has anyone ever used these? Stamped Worcester Ma. USA on one side and St pierreGiant Chain Pliers on the other. I saw them at a Yard sale and for $2.00 I couldn't resist. Will hang them on the garage wall if nothing else.

I just love those old tools that are made to last
I guess those are made to cut chain?

Pretty sure they're for tire chains. Kind of funny, had a similar set hanging on the wall of my shop years ago with a sign "what are these for?". I forget where I found them, or what I ended up doing with them. CRS *****.

I don't think those are for cutting; I think they are to pull the two ends of the chain together to insert a master link.

yea now that I look at the design better the jaws are made for clamping not cutting
still pretty neat tho
