Hello,
I recently realized that I never started a build thread so here it goes.
I will be using the garage primarily for working on cars/motorcycles and several other projects I’ve been throwing around in my mind.
It’s a block building with TJIs. Roughly 850 ft2 with a 20ft door.
Plans:
- Paint the walls
- Insulate and drywall the ceiling
- Install pallet racks
- Install a 2 post lift
- Fill it with tools benches cabinets etc…

Here’s where it started:

Have you determined what lift that you're going with?

I'm also starting to build a garage to store the RV and work on my vehicles. I have a range of vehicles...from a sports car that is just under 5" off the ground to a F450 stakebed. I need probably 12K pound minimum rated lift but also low minimum lift pads to get under the sports car.

Looking forward to see your garage progress.

I'm honestly on a really tight budget so whatever I can find a good deal used. My biggest criteria is low lifting pads. I mostly work on sports cars but would like to be able to raise a 1500 pickup. So I'll probably get a 9k. Almost every brand ive looked at has pads that will fit under 5in. I guess it really depends on your budget.

So this is the mess I was dealing with. I have leftover construction materials and all the stuff out of my old garage. The next step is organizing.

I got some Pallet Racks and put them up. Most of the stuff is now off the ground. I set up the smaller shelves I have up against the uprights. I didn't do the best job of organizing the racks but it was a ton of work to do alone. At some point I'll do a better job of arranging the first two levels.
