Bit of an upgrade of 753 Sq/ft up from my 350 Sq/ft internal garage, Gitzy's Garage 1.0

I decided to use some of my redundancy payout from my work of 18 years and fund building my 2.0 happy place. I admit I'm preparing for two teenage daughters one day and a house full of hormones. So a retreat would be a good thing. Even though I think they'll just follow me out.

I used a random app I found to do a bit of a design I was after. Was good fun.

Looking good!

Got a question, it looks like the builder put up the gable tin then trimmed it in place. We usually cut it on the ground. How did they cut it?

Your helper shows marvelous enthusiasm!

On a more sombre note, I love this place alot so I thought I would share.

On the 6th January for the first time in 12 years I didn't get a good morning text, after some missed phone calls I rushed home from work and found that my beautiful Wife Sasha didn't wake up. She was in bed with both our little girls. She was the best Mumma, the funniest person and my Best friend.

We gave her a beautiful Purple 💜 farewell. She was 38 and full of life. We're still waiting on any answers. They've prepped me to be waiting for a long time if ever of finding out why.

A friend of mine lost his parents at 4, he called me and said get a photographer and memorialize the moment for your girls. Frankie is 3 and Billie is 1. I hope to make sure they always remember their Mumma.

Oh man!

Words can't express, anything.

I lost my wife of forty years in 2019, we had plenty of time and not nearly enough.

May God bless you as you do your most important task of providing for those precious children.

I cannot imagine.

After Sashy passed, my Dad immediately retired and asked if him and Mum could move into my backyard to help out for the foreseeable future. They said they've looked after my sister for 42 years and never had to worry about me so now it's now my turn.

They purchased this big *** van and after removing some panels and a post it git right in.

I did offer them the empty shed but really couldn't compete with this van. Very comfy for them. They've got 15amp power I installed on the back of the house and water. It's a pretty chill place for them.

Dusted off some of my timber tools and put together a semi permanent deck/floor for the annex to arrive. Turned out pretty damn good.
They've doubled their space, even used carpet tiles and they have a bit of a loungeroom.

They're also in the middle of emptying their house of 30 years this year to repaint the inside and sell it to move out my way eventually and downsize. Purchased their house in 1995 for 132k now valued at 980k?? Australia have gone mad with these prices.

I don't know how I'm navigating this world working full time with a 3 & 1 year old at daycare but here I am blundering through it. Daycare drop off/pick up either side of 10 hour shifts is a slog but 3 day weekends with them are worth it. I'm sure when my oldies finish painting their house and sell it they'll be even more help in the mornings and nights but for now I'm just pushing on.

Anyhoo back to the garage !

As per my original 3D plan thing, I wanted the right side to be rubber gym tiles before the gym gear went down there 7m x 3m. So sorted that out then did the 1x1m carpet tiles for the middle of the shed for the entertainment area. 7m x 4m

Here is where we're at. Some gym stuff to go, some new stuff to come. No rush just taking my time.

Thanks Mate, they string lined it and then used a nibbler. Worked a treat but I think a better finish would have been achieved cutting it on the ground. Mostly unseen inside due to the insulation shrouding the cuts.

Thank you my friend, I've had quite a few wordless conversations just staring and hugging. I can't imagine your loss of forty years, 12 was hard enough. It's just cruel. The girls are my world now, just need to do right by them.
